Fresh from the Hen House
I am the kind of person who loves deals, thinks used is just fine and dandy, and doesn’t pass up much that is free. Though, when my husband came home recently and told me he was offered someone’s excess storebought hamburger/hotdogs buns and that he turned them down because I make homemade ones, I wasn’t even sad. Unless I’m terribly busy, I don’t plan to ever go back to store bought buns or buns with all-purpose flour. We’ve made homemade breads for years, but using fresh milled flour has been one of the greatest switches we have made.
Celebrate Father’s Day in unique ways
Father’s Day is a celebration of dads near and far. Falling on the third Sunday of June each year, Father’s Day presents an opportunity for families to come together and put the spotlight on fathers who work tirelessly for their children and provide them with love and support. Father’s Day also is a chance to honor the men who serve as father figures or play special roles in people’s lives.
Through Your Eyes
Sandy Crichton Luder, of Chase County, recently spotted a possum walking along the roadside in front of her home. A few days later, she captured these morning photos just 10 feet from her house—only to realize upon closer look that the possum was carrying her young.
