Jadyn Picolet qualifies for 3A State Cross Country after tough, muddy regional race

The clocks were thrown out on Saturday at the regional race hosted by Wichita Trinity. The conditions of the course and the constant rain meant nobody was PRing. It was “survive and advance.” What looked on paper to be one of the fastest regionals in 3A turned into a slog fest on a waterlogged and muddied course. Not only did runners have to fight through the deepest field in a 3A Regional this season, they also had to battle standing and running water, mud slicked hills, treacherous footing, rain, and saturated ground. But through all of that Council Grove’s Jadyn Picolet came out in 5th place, qualifying for the state meet next week.
