The Church Ladies to close symposium with free concert

The Santa Fe Trail Symposium will conclude its weekend in Council Grove with a free outdoor concert by The Church Ladies on Saturday, September 27, at the Neosho Riverwalk Amphitheater. The harmony- driven trio will take the stage at 8 p.m. as the finale to the symposium’s Saturday program. The performance is open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating.

FREE CONCERT FRIDAY -- The Weda Skirts, a five-piece vocal group from the Flint Hills of Kansas, will perform free at 8 p.m., Friday, at the Neosho Riverwalk Amphitheater.
TO PERFORM SATURDAY -- The Church Ladies known for their polished vocals and seamless harmonies, will perform Saturday night for the conclusion of the Santa Fe Trail Symposium. The free concert will begin at 8 p.m., at the Neosho Riverwalk Amphitheater.

Weda Skirts to Perform Free Concert at Amphitheater

As part of the Santa Fe Trail Symposium festivities in Council Grove, the Weda Skirts will perform a free concert at the Neosho Riverwalk Amphitheater on Friday, September 26, beginning at 8 p.m. The concert, which is open to the public, will follow the symposium’s special Friday evening banquet held over and alongside the Neosho River. Dinner tickets for the banquet are still available for $35 at Destination: Council Grove, 512 E. Main, or at the Council Grove Republican office.

‘Voices of the Wind People’ returns this weekend at Neosho Riverwalk Amphitheater

The outdoor drama Voices of the Wind People will once again come to life this weekend, bringing the powerful story of the Kaw (Kanza) people and early settlers of Council Grove to the stage of the outdoor amphitheater at the Neosho Riverwalk Amphitheater. Performances will be held on Friday and Saturday, September 20 and 21, at 8 p.m. each evening.
