The Council Grove Lady Braves competed Monday, September 22, at the Osage City Varsity Golf Meet, finishing in fourth place as a team in a tight race among the top schools.
Harold and Kelly Gaston are once again opening their hearts by hosting the Flint Hills Scavenger Hunt Fundraiser on Sunday, October 5. This year’s event will raise funds for 11-month-old Chloe McIver, daughter of Callahan and Melinda McIver.
The Council Grove Braves gave their homecoming crowd plenty to cheer about Friday night, September 19, as they defeated the Cair Paravel Lions 39-7 at Council Grove.
The Braves Cross Country team traveled to Wabaunsee Saturday to compete in the Jason McKinney Memorial XC Meet, where they turned in some solid performances. The Braves left with 4 personal records, 4 season best times, and 4 medals.
There were good crowds at the Heart of the Flint Hills Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail Association’s Wagon Show on Friday and Saturday as Wheelwright Don Werner demonstrated how to shrink a steel tire on a wagon wheel
