A significant gap between voter turnout and survey participation framed discussion at Monday night’s USD 417 Board of Education meeting, where officials reviewed 265 survey responses from a pool of approximately 1,700 bond election voters, data they acknowledged was limited and skewed by underrepresentation of the 61-plus age group.

A slow-moving storm system produced multiple tornadoes across east-central Kansas on Thursday, April 23, including an EF-1 tornado that caused significant damage along the north side of Lake Kahola in Morris County.
