Debbie K. Longan, 68, of Emporia passed away at her home on March 27, 2022 surrounded by her family. Debbie was born in Council Grove, KS on November 30, 1953 to Delpha and Emmitt Longan. She attended Council Grove High School and Cosmetology School at Emporia, KS.

Doyle Barnes passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at his residence in Manhattan. He was a former resident of Council Grove.

Ralph Gene Braun, born June 8, 1934 to Theodore and Bertina Braun of Council Grove, Kansas, joined his wife Dorothy of 62 years and son David Paul in Heaven on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at the age of 87. Ralph’s life was characterized by his passion for God, ministry and teaching the Bible. He was known and dearly loved by his family, community, church, and friends around the world.

Lloyd (Pete) Gallaway passed on April 11, 2022, at his home. He was born July 31, 1952, in Junction City, Kansas to Kenneth and Dorothy (Thomas) Gallaway.

Harold Dean Hermstein, 69, died on April 11, 2022, on the homestead in Council Grove, Kansas.

Ralph Braun, 87, Council Grove, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022 at his residence.

Anita Marie Hummel, a resident of rural Hope, KS passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 3pm at Memorial Hospital in Abilene, KS at the age of 80.

Marilyn Annette (Roberts) Ziegenhirt, 83 of Emporia, Ks went to be with the Lord on March 23, 2022, in the home of her daughter’s house while surrounded by family. Marilyn was born on January 4, 1939, in Council Grove hospital to Homer and Mary (Hooper) Roberts of Alta Vista. Marilyn grew up on a farm South of Alta Vista and went to a one-room schoolhouse till 8th grade.

Diane Lucille Kratzer, 69, of Dwight, KS, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Newman Memorial Hospital in Emporia, KS. A visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2022 at the Johnson Funeral Home 203 N. Washington Street in Junction City, KS. Cremation will follow the visitation.

Norma Hisey, sister of Dona Selby, died recently. Her funeral was in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home with the Reverend Jim Edmison officiating. She was buried in the Hunter Cemetery near Hunter, Oklahoma, where she and her husband, Gene Hisey, spent many happy years. They were blessed with four children.
