A Memorial Service for Betty Barnes/Barker, who died August 19, will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, at Lull Meadows. An informal service will begin at 1 p.m. All are encouraged to dress casual.
George Dean Venburg, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away at the age of 86 on October 6, 2022 and entered into the Kingdom of God.
Jerold Dean Osborne of Enterprise, KS. passed away October 6, 2022 at his home. He was born July 30, 1949 to Blanche Osborne (Hebrank) and LeRoy Osborne in Council Grove, KS. He was devoted to his wife of 30 years, Jo Ann Faith Osborne and his children, Kevin Charles Osborne, Roselin Anne Lee, Stephen Curtis Brickhill, Scott Ryan Osborne, and is preceded in death by his son Jared Patrick Osborne, and greatly treasured his grandchildren.
In remembrance of Bill Brown, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 13, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Alta Vista. Following the service, lunch will be served in the basement.
Russell Alspaw, 78, went to be with the Lord on September 29, 2022. Russ was born January 13, 1944, in Topeka, Kansas, son of Marion and Bertha Alspaw. Russ grew up in Council Grove, KS, where his love for the outdoors began.
Thomas Allen Eddy of Emporia, KS was born to Margaret Womer Eddy and Luther Merton Eddy in Parsons, KS. He was devoted to his wife of 58 years, Ginnie Anne Ryan Eddy and his two daughters, Laura Marie Eddy and Blythe Anne Eddy Dody (Aron), and greatly treasured his grandchildren, Destiny, Cahaya, and Landon Dody. Tom was loved and admired by his siblings: William B. Eddy (Linda) of Kansas City, MO; Marcia Price (Palmer) of Salina, KS; Cheryl Figgs (Dennis Domer) of Baldwin City, KS and Phoenix, AZ; and Edward Mitchell Eddy (Deborah Ann O’Brien) of Chapel Hill, NC.
Dennis Wayne Carson joined our Lord and Savior in Heaven on September 26, 2022 in his home surrounded by family. Denny succumbed to his sudden and unexpected fight with cancer and is now parading pain and care free with Janell in God’s glory. He was 67 years old. Denny was born at the Council Grove Hospital to Bernard and Elsie (Koepsel) Carson November 6, 1954. He was the oldest of 8 children. He attended White City School graduating in 1972. He went on to attend Manhattan Area Technical College for auto mechanics receiving certification in May of 1973. Denny returned to the family farm where he would help his father, Bernard, and siblings and then later brother, John, run the family farm and dairy for 49 years until his passing.
