John Max Amos of Council Grove, Kansas passed away September 8th, 2024 at the age of 94. Max was born on July 25, 1930 in Kelso, KS to John Henry and Alice Arabelle (Henning) Amos. Growing up on a farm in the 1930’s gave him the grit and determination exemplified in his life.

Hank David Robert Hartwich, a treasured young man and son known for his quick witted, ornery demeanor, and kind-hearted personality, left us on September 1st, 2024, after an unfair, yet courageous, battle with cancer.

Arnold (Ray) Hall Sr. of Council Grove Ks passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on May 19th 2024 at Chase County Care and Rehabilitation in Cottonwood Falls Ks with family by his side.

Wayne “Jackie” E. Leffler of rural Americus died Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the Emporia Presbyterian Manor in Emporia. He was 93.

Julia (Judy) Kay Atkinson Paige, lifelong resident of the White City Community, passed from this life to Eternity on August 24, 2024.

February 16, 1938--August 15, 2024 Mary Belle Van Note was born in Bucyrus, Missouri, but ended up in Council Grove where she met and married Tony Reynoso, from Dwight, on February 4, 1956. Being an Air Force wife, she always found ways to meet the needs of her family, but her passion was working with the elderly as a CNA in nursing homes and as a home health provider. Her kind heart allowed her to connect with patients and families, and it is almost certain that each one was gifted an item Mary made with her own hands.

William Arthur Wolgast passed away on August 15, 2024, with his four sons by his side. He was born in Alta Vista, Kansas on January 21, 1938, the son of Arthur and Esther Wolgast.

Mildred Clara (Kohls) Gehrke passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024 at age 95. She had resided at The Legacy of Herington for the last 3 years. She was born on August 2, 1929 to Clara and Henry Kohls. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Herington. She attended the St. Paul’s Lutheran School and graduated Herington High School in 1947.

Cary Lynne Mock was born August 8, 1966, in Council Grove, Kansas, to Ralph and Sharon Mock. Raised in Wilsey, Kansas, he attended Wilsey Grade School and Council Grove High School. Cary was the eldest of three siblings, followed by sisters Melissa (Beatty) and RyAnn (Myers).
