Sharon Kearney Dies
Sharon Faye Kearney (Orton) passed away at her home in Gold Canyon, AZ on December 13, 2019, at the age of 79 of lung disease related to her smoking cigarettes.
Sharon is predeceased by her father, Kermit Orton, her mother, Vivian Orton, and her brother, Stanley Orton.
Sharon is lovingly remembered by her children, Gwenda Hatcher, Michelle Kearney, and Shawn Kearney as well as her grandchildren Mindy (Ryan) Woolf, Casey Hatcher, Ty Hatcher, Emily Kearney, Journey Kearney, and River Kearney.
She is remembered by her great grandchildren Emma Woolf, Atia Woolf, Haddie Woolf, and Jaxon Bodenhamer.
She is also remembered by her sisters Kay Ayers, Rita Hlasney, and Linda Orton and their families.
Sharon was born in Alta Vista, KS and graduated from Council Grove High School. She went on to earn a Master’s in history with a strong emphasis in Native American Studies. She was also a graduate of Newman School of Nursing, spending most of career focusing on geriatric patients, although she was an amazing nurse in many other areas.
Per Sharon’s request there will be no services. The family urges everyone to quit smoking today.
