Alma Jean Marsh

Alma Jean Marsh, of Council Grove, passed away November 1, 2021, at Morris County Hospital. She was born February 18, 1932, to Harold and Gladys May (Kraus) Fuqua. She was 89.

She married Bobby Joe Marsh August 5, 1956 and were married 54 years. Alma worked at A & W Root Beer in Norman, OK and worked as a CNA and CMA at Diversicare. She also worked at Dairy Queen and Dollar General. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church.

She spent every summer camping at Santa Fe Trail with Dorothy and Shorty Burnett, playing cards and Yahtzee. She always asked if they wanted an “EKOK” (coke) or a “EKAK” (cake). She loved spending time with grandkids and great grandkids and was always happy to see friends and family come visit. She spent every Monday night watching Dancing with the Stars, and no one was supposed to interrupt her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bobby, brother Harold Krause, sisters Dorothy Yadon and Judith Phillips. Alma is survived by children: Danny Weeks and wife Jerry Ann of Wildorado, TX: Sylvia Riffel, of Council Grove: Rodney Marsh and wife Angela of Altamont, IL: Kevin Marsh of Cheney, KS: Richard Marsh of Council Grove: and Dena Williams and husband Michael (Tickey) of Council Grove; sister Shirlee Yadon of Council Grove; 16 grandchildren and spouses; 23 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, November 4 ^th , with services following at 11:00 at Sawyer Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunny Slope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be
