Inquiries sought for new Parkinson’s support group
Angels Care Home Health and Morris County Assisted Living are partnering with Morris County Hospital to explore the creation of a Parkinson’s Support Group for the community. The three organizations are currently gathering information to determine the level of local interest before moving forward.

The Morris County Commissioner meeting was called to order on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. Commissioners David Fox, Jim Barber, and Wayne Kohler were present. Bill Kassebaum, County Counselor, and Chelsey Schmidt, County Clerk, were present.
Community Thrift Store offers bibles 24/7 in new Bible House
The Community Thrift Store, 17 S. 5th St. in Council Grove, now features a newly built Bible House at its entrance, open around the clock for anyone who would like to take a Bible or donate one. The addition makes God’s Word available to the community 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
USD 417 BOE advances bond election; 1918 Building to be demolished
The USD 417 Board of Education held a special meeting Monday night, November 24, to finalize plans for a March 2026 bond election and to adopt the formal resolution and public notice required by the Kansas State Board of Education. The meeting included updated cost estimates, mill levy projections, and clarification that the district intends to demolish the entire 1918 high school building, leaving a grass field in its place.
