MARION COUNTY -- A Kansas man fell asleep at the wheel and struck a school bus head-on Wednesday morning in Marion Co.
The Morris County Commissioner meeting was called to order on Tuesday, February 17th, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Commissioners David Fox, Jim Barber, and Wayne Kohler were present. Bill Kassebaum, County Counselor, and Chelsey Schmidt, County Clerk, were present.
The Council Grove Community Theatre’s production of On Golden Pond by Ernest Thompson opens Friday, February 27, at the Trail Days Art & History Center, 803 W. Main, Council Grove. Based on Tuesday evening’s dress rehearsal, audiences should prepare for an evening that balances humor, vulnerability and the complicated terrain of family relationships.

The Council Grove Junior High wrestling team competed in two events in as many days, beginning Monday, Feb. 23 at the Marion tournament. The Braves finished with a combined record of 30-36 and recorded 26 pins.
