CG City Council meets Tuesday, September 16

The Council Grove City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at City Hall. After a welcome and call to order, the Pledge of Allegiance will be recited and an invocation will be given. A public comment period will follow. To be eligible to speak, people must sign up and limit their comments to three minutes. The consent agenda will be considered, which contains minutes from the previous meeting and appropriations in the amount of $149,662.69. In old business, there will be expected action on Resolution 09162501, which pertains to an alley vacation requested by Trent and Cather- ine Siegle. A revised Nepotism Policy will also be introduced. In new business, there will be a planning and zoning commission recommendation for the building of a Casey’s store in Council Grove. GMDC’s Check Scott and Garrett Nordstrom will be present to ask for the city’s participation in an industrial park project. The council will consider the recommendation to appoint Alex Wooden to a Full Time Class A police officer. A recommendation from the City Administrator and Utilities Department Superintendent to appoint Rhett Johnson as a Water Department Apprentice will be considered. A recommendation will be heard to increase Curtis Watson’s pay, after he passed his Class I Water Operator certification. An equipment purchase of a snowplow will be considered. A water analysis quote from Getting Great Rates will also be presented.
