Osage, Kanza Educational Resources For Teachers

Opening up a new world of learning, area educators have developed innovative educational materials focusing on the Osage and Kanza (Kaw) nations of Kansas and Oklahoma.

Available on-line and free to all, resources are located in the Culture sections of the Osage and Kanza websites:  Osage Lessons at https://www.osagenation-nsn.gov, Kanza Lessons at http://kawnation.com

To prepare the materials, Flint Hills Map & Education Coordinator Annie Wilson worked with the Osage Nation, and Dr. Tim Fry of Washburn University worked with the Kaw Nation, partnering with tribal committees of cultural experts, tribal elders, artists, educators, and historians who provided source information which Fry and Wilson then translated into educational materials.
