The Manhattan Optimist Catalyst 12-U softball team played in its first tournament of the 2019 season in the Manhattan Spring Slam for the Rings on April 13 and 14. Catalyst played Manhattan Optimist Prime in its first game, with Prime winning 7-1 behind a strong one-hit pitching performance by Maggie Brummett.
