Council Grove businesses will offer shopping and dining specials during Girls Getaway in the Grove from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 25.
Promoted by the City of Council Grove and Destination : Council Grove, the event encourages visitors and residents to spend the evening exploring local businesses, taking advantage of special offers and enjoying area restaurants.
Grove Gardens, 401 W. Main St., will offer 50 percent off plants, free drink samples and a raffle for a large combination planter. Luxe Lounge Salon and Boutique, 224 W. Main St., will offer 75 percent off selected items, a free gift with purchase and refreshments.
Ginger Dragon Express, 212 W. Main St., and El Rancho Viejo, 209 W. Main St., will offer $1 off all margaritas and beer from 5 to 9 p.m. Pizza Hut, 15 N. Union St., will have its salad bar available throughout the day and a pizza and salad bar buffet from 5 to 8 p.m. The Hays House Restaurant and Tavern will also welcome shoppers to stop for dinner during the event.
Farmers & Drovers Bank will have its automated teller machines available at 501 N. Union St. and 129 W. Main St.
At the Council Grove Republican, 302 W. Main St., visitors may receive a free month of the newspaper’s e-edition with no obligation to continue. Current subscribers may have the additional month added to their subscriptions. Avon Ambassador Jan Sciacca will also offer savings of up to 80 percent on selected summer products, including serums, facial treatments and products for sensitive skin.
Adams Homestore, 203 E. Main St., will participate during its regular Saturday hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The store will offer a buy-one, get-one 50 percent-off special on all flags and rugs. Adams Homestore will close at 5 p.m., when the main evening activities begin.
