CG Lake working as designed, campsite updates

A Monday Council Grove Lake tour showed flooding behind the blockades in Richey Covey. White-capped waves were creating havoc with former picnic sites and young trees. Time will tell how much damage is done to the water-covered road.
A photo of flooded downtown Council Grove in 1951 is a reminder of why the Council Grove Lake was built. We are grateful that it is working as designed.

The water covering roads, campsites and recreation areas at Council Grove Lake this week is inconvenient, damaging and frustrating.

It is also evidence that the lake is doing what it was built to do.
