Bailey Allen Earns Merck Animal Health Scholarship

Bailey Allen of Council Grove, daughter of Nick and Amy Allen, received a $1,000 Merck Animal Health “Cartridges for Cash”/Kansas Livestock Foundation (KLF) scholarship. She was one of 22 students awarded a grand total of $23,500 in scholarships through KLF for the 2018-19 school year.

Allen is a junior majoring in animal science at Kansas State University. She is a member of the Block and Bridle Club, Collegiate Cattlemen’s Club and Collegiate CattleWomen’s Club. Allen also operates her own silversmith business, BA Silver.

This scholarship is awarded to any student entering or returning to a Kansas community or senior college and pursuing a degree in agriculture or a related field. Preference is given to K-State and Fort Hays State University students entering their junior or senior year and majoring in animal science with a career goal of being actively engaged in livestock production. Merck Animal Health Scholarships are funded through the “Cartridges for Cash” program in which Merck donates 25¢ for each Ralgro wheel or Revalor cartridge turned in to KLA.
