Agency Announces Closing Applications For Assistance
The North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging (NC-FH AAA), one of the recipients of the Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) grant from the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation announced today that it will no longer accept applications for the TBRA program, effective at 5 p.m. on December 14, 2018.
Officials with the North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging said their organization has utilized all available TBRA funds to assist low income Kansans with security and utility deposits. Applications that are submitted to the NC-FH AAA before December 14, 2018 will be processed in the order in which they are received; after that date the NC-FH AAA is unable to guarantee that any funds will be available to TBRA applicants.
In October 2017, the Agency was awarded a $100,000 in TBRA funds from the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation. The NC-FH AAA is among several Kansas organizations providing rental subsidies and/or security and utility deposits to qualifying individuals and families.
“Our organization plans to apply for more funds from the Kansas Housing Resource Corporation for Tenant Based Rental Assistance as soon as a grant announcement of fund availability is made, “ Julie Govert Walter, NC-FH AAA Executive Director said.
Funds for the TBRA program are from federal HOME Investment Partnerships Program that is administered by KHRC.
Those who wish to apply for TBRA funds or who seek more information should call the NC-FH AAA at 785-243-2703 during regular business hours.
