Council Oak chapter of DAR met Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at the Post Office Oak and was joined by members of the Emporia chapter of DAR. Regent, Colleen Anderson, led the group in the DAR ritual and prayer, Pledge of allegiance to the Flag of the USA, the American’s Creed, and the Preamble to the Constitution of the USA.
For years, the “enemedia,” i.e., “enemy media,” has told us that the biggest threat to our country is the MAGA movement and everyday conservative voters. We’ve been warned that we are “extremists” and “dangers to democracy.”
When someone moves into a community, they can often hear, “You’re not from around here.”
The Chase County Bulldogs track and field teams hosted 11 schools at the sixth annual Tim Griffin Relays last Thursday, turning in a strong showing highlighted by multiple event titles and personal best performances.
