COUNCIL GROVE ROTARY SPEAKERS -- Megan Dix (left) and Cindy Gant were guests at Council Grove Rotary Wednesday and represented Care & Share. Care & Share, a community food pantry serving Morris County, has been assisting residents in need for more than 40 years. The organization was founded through the efforts of Sharon Hesser Vaughn, who recognized local food insecurity while working for SRS, and Loretta Keyser, who stepped forward to organize and lead the original board. Early support also came from Bob Kramer, who provided storage space to help launch the pantry’s operations. Dix noted that the organization’s current location at 1003 W. Main Street has proven beneficial for both donors and recipients, offering convenient access while allowing individuals to seek assistance with a greater sense of privacy. The organization is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1-4 p.m.
The Chase County Bulldogs track and field teams hosted 11 schools at the sixth annual Tim Griffin Relays last Thursday, turning in a strong showing highlighted by multiple event titles and personal best performances.
