The USD 417 Board of Education met Monday evening, May 11, at the District Office in Council Grove for its regular monthly meeting, which included recognition of state qualifiers and champions, discussion of district finances and enrollment trends, instructional data reports, childcare concerns and the appointment of a new board member.

The Sunday, May 3rd Kaw Mission Councils Westward Expansion Lecture Series will be the 175th Commemoration of the Kaw Mission. The program will be held at The Territory Ball Room, located at 117-119 West Main Street at 2 p.m.
A slow-moving storm system produced multiple tornadoes across east-central Kansas on Thursday, April 23, including an EF-1 tornado that caused significant damage along the north side of Lake Kahola in Morris County.
