The Morris County Commissioner meeting was called to order on Tuesday, April 28th, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Commissioners Jim Barber, David Fox and Wayne Kohler were present. Chelsey Schmidt, County Clerk, were present.

Monarch Molding, Inc., a long-standing manufacturing presence in Council Grove, has closed its doors, bringing an end to nearly seven decades of operation, known under the names of Buckeye Bait and Monarch Molding. The company’s equipment and assets will be sold at a public auction scheduled for 10 a.m., on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the facility located at 120 Liberty Street.
Area high school Centre earned recognition for its commitment to sportsmanship during the 2025-26 basketball season, being named the Wheat State League Sportsmanship Champion by its peers.
