(KVOE) The Kansas State football team overcame a 27-17 halftime deficit to stun Rutgers 44-41 and win the Rate Bowl at Chase Field in Phoenix, Ariz. on Thursday.
Debbie Miller, of Council Grove, won Bowl Bash #1, correctly guessing 11 of 14 bowl games. Miller will receive a $25 gift certificate that is redeemable at any of the contest’s sponsors. Bowl Bash #2 games start today, December 27, 2024, and runs through January 2, 2025.
Council Grove High School’s junior varsity boys wrestled at the Chase County Invitational Tournament Saturday in Cottonwood Falls, notching one bracket championship and two third places against varsity level competition from ten are schools.
The Morris County Commissioner meeting was called to order on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. Commissioners David Fox, Jim Barber, and Wayne Kohler were present. Bill Kassebaum, County Counselor, and Chelsey Schmidt, County Clerk, were present.
Bryan Hatcher, of Council Grove, is the winner of the Week 16 contest in the Council Grove Pigskin Pick ‘Em Contest. Hatcher correctly guessed 13 out of 16 NFL football games. After the Monday night NFL game between the New Orleans Saints and the Green Bay Packers, which the Packers won 34-0, Hatcher was tied for first place. He won the contest when he correctly guessed the tiebreaker score of 51 between the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears, which the Lions won 34-17, or 51 points total. Hatcher will receive a $25 gift certificate that is redeemable at any of the contest sponsors.
