Back by popular demand, the Morris County Historical Society will host a special come-and-go “historical” tour of Council Grove’s Greenwood Cemetery from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 26. The event offers visitors a unique and engaging opportunity to meet some of the community’s early residents as they “come to life” at their gravesites.
Area residents and business leaders are invited to a Meet & Greet to welcome Dr. Tamara Daniel, the new president of Butler Community College, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 29, at Butler of Council Grove, 131 W. Main St., Council Grove, Kansas. Light refreshments will be served, and Dr. Daniel will share remarks at noon.

At 15 years old, Council Grove Junior Senior High School sophomore Colton Elsen is taking civic engagement into his own hands. A talented singer-songwriter and self-taught guitarist, Elsen might seem like a typical teenager pursuing creative passions. But over the past year, he’s discovered another calling, one rooted in understanding government, encouraging civil discourse, and shaping the future.

Our community recently rallied together and purchased one of the most advanced tools for early detection, the 3D mammogram machine, also known as digital breast tomosynthesis.
