A longtime Council Grove insurance agency entered a new chapter Aug. 1 as Anna Romme assumed ownership of Gieswein Insurance Agency and renamed the business Tallgrass Insurance Group LLC.
For years, Gieswein Insurance Agency has been a steady presence in Council Grove, building relationships with customers throughout the community. Romme said that tradition of personal service will continue under the agency’s new ownership and identity.
Romme has a background in insurance and most recently worked as a soil conservation technician for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service. Through that position, she developed connections with producers and residents throughout Morris County and surrounding communities.
She said she took pride in helping producers implement practices intended to improve conservation and production on their land. Her interest in working directly with people helped make the transition to becoming a local insurance agent feel natural.
“Helping people protect what matters most” is Romme’s motto. She said that means helping protect what individuals and families have devoted their lives to building, whether it has been passed down through generations or is just beginning.
The Tallgrass Insurance Group name reflects both an appreciation for Kansas heritage and a vision for the future. Romme said the tallgrass prairie represents strength, adaptability and deep roots—qualities the agency hopes to reflect in the relationships it builds with its clients.
Tallgrass Insurance Group offers a range of insurance products. Its licensed staff can write policies in Kansas and Missouri.
Romme is married to Brian Romme. They have three children who attend USD 417 schools and are active members of Morris County 4-H.
