Wilma Manhart, 94, of Council Grove passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Morris County Assisted Living. She was born April 15, 1930, in White City, KS, to Paul Hansen and Blanche Sanford Hansen.

Janet A. Rediker, 88, Topeka, Kansas and formerly of Emporia, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Midland Hospice, Topeka. She was born in Emporia, Kansas on March 10, 1936, the daughter of Morris Murdock and Bertha Alice (Anderson) Bond. She grew up in the Plymouth Community west of Emporia. Janet married Gerald A. Rediker on June 3, 1956 at the First Methodist Church, Emporia. He survives.

Phyllis Claire (Wood) Metzger (91) passed away on 8 January 2025 in her home in Council Grove, KS.

Elvin Lee Garrett, 68, passed away December 27, 2024, at Morris County Hospital, with his family by his side. He was born August 5, 1956, in Council Grove, Kansas, to Fred and Mary (Carlson) Garrett.

Lee was a huge KU fan. As a kid he played little league baseball in San Luis Obispo, California. His team was crowned YBL Champions in July 1968.

Lee had many friends in his life that he cared for and loved deeply. He will truly be missed by so many.

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Mary Garrett and sister Debbie Garrett Coe.

Gary Wayne Kennedy passed away on Saturday, December 28th, 2024 at his home in Bonne Terre, Missouri. Gary was born on Tuesday, July 13, 1954 to the late R.L and Irene (Sharp) Kennedy in Malden, Missouri.

Janis Elaine Holm, Council Grove, left her earthly home to join friends and relatives in her heavenly home on December 21, while at Morris County Hospital, from complications after a major surgery.

Stanley Albert Birkbeck, 73, of Alta Vista, Kansas, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, December 21st.
