Margaret Lillie Bleier

Margaret Lillie Bleier, co-founder and co-owner of Bleier’s IGA, passed gracefully into heaven after 102 astonishing years on Earth. Rarely did one encounter a kinder, more gentle soul. There was not an ounce of malice in her bones and she truly radiated joy and love with every action. Anyone who met her always walked away with a smile (which could also be from one of her many witty remarks). Her life epitomized the American dream.

Naomi Faye Litke Moran, 97, died March 26, 2021, at Aldersgate Village in Topeka, Kansas. She was born January 29, 1924, on a farm southeast of Alta Vista, Kansas, the daughter of Thomas Benjamin Litke and Lily Faye Newcomb Litke. She lived and worked on the farm and graduated from Beman Country School, the same school attended by her parents. She rode a horse to school (two miles).The farm did not have electricity until 1948. She worked as a waitress and store clerk before becoming a homemaker.
