Myron “Sonny” Enns
Myron J. “Sonny” Enns, born on Jan. 1, 1928, of Olathe, KS died Jan. 18, 2018, Sonny, son of Rudy and Nettie Enns, passed away at Nottingham Health & Rehabilitation Home a few days after celebrating his 90th birthday. He is survived by his daughter, Maribeth Burns and her husband, Les of Leawood, KS and son, Thomas Enns of Osawatomie, KS. He is also survived by his grandsons, Jeff Burns, (Courtney)) of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Brad Burns of Scottsdale, AZ, 3 great granddaughters, Kaylee, Reagan & Mia Burns, his sisters, Betty Schmidt (Bob), Judy Gaeddret, and Janet (Rich) Coleman and many nieces and nephews. Sonny was a Kansas high school all-state basketball player, member of the Newton High School Athletic Hall of Fame and played basketball at KU under Phog Allen, “47-51. He started a concrete and construction company in Council Grove, KS and later moved to Manhattan and was a Butler building Franchisee and Contractor. He was an avid KU & K-State sports fan, golfer and fisherman. He spent the last 8 years of his life in the Kansas City area. A memorial service will be held at Zeiner Funeral Home, 137 N. Union, Council Grove, KS on Feb. 10 at 11:30. A luncheon for family and friends will be held at the Hayes House following the service.
