Linda Verlene (Shearer) Price
Linda Verlene (Shearer) Price, born on March 29, 1949, in the charming town of Council Grove, Kansas, peacefully passed away at home on May 9, 2026. Linda was a beacon of light and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey through life was one marked by love, laughter, and an unyielding devotion to those she held dear.
Linda was the daughter of Dillis and Verla Shearer, who instilled in her the values of kindness and generosity. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her sisters, Glenda Shearer and Dorothy Moege, and her husband, Robert “Bob” Price. Linda and Bob married on January 8, 1977 and created a beautiful life together.
She is survived by her loving children: Shirley Florence, Roland (Cara) White, and Jason (Susan) White, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her legacy continues in the hearts of her siblings: Doris Resner, Glen Shearer, Janice Williams, and Dale Shearer. Linda was blessed with the joy of her seven grandchildren: Toby (Jennifer) Florence, Haley (Cody) Quada, Zoe White, Amber (Denver) Grinder, Hunter Lowmaster, Jesse Lowmaster, Ashlyn White and eleven great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored and took immense pride in teaching and nurturing.
Linda’s education began at Four Mile Grade School and continued at Council Grove High School. Her career spanned roles at the local Duckwall’s, Rex Roto, and in housekeeping at Morris County Hospital and Diversicare of Council Grove. Through her work, she touched many lives with her gentle spirit and dedication.
A woman of many talents, Linda found immense joy in sewing, quilting, and crocheting. Her hands crafted warmth and comfort, and she found particular delight in teaching her grandchildren the art of crochet, creating bonds that will forever be cherished. Family gatherings were her sanctuary, where her easygoing nature and infectious smile brought joy to all.
Linda’s kindness and generosity left a profound impact on everyone she met. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved, creating an atmosphere of warmth wherever she went. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew her.
A celebration of Linda’s remarkable life will be held on May 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Sawyer Funeral Home, located at 137 N Union St, Council Grove, KS. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor a life well-lived, a testament to love, family, and the beautiful tapestry of a life woven with kindness.
