Isaac David Carver

Isaac David Carver, 21, of Council Grove, KS, exchanged his earthly body for the glory of Heaven on January 30, 2022. He was born in Manhattan, KS, on November 21, 2000. During his childhood years, he lived in Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Texas. He graduated from Llano Christian Academy in Llano, TX, in 2019, and attended Kansas State University, 2019-2021. Recently, he worked for Gillaspie Fencing Company in Council Grove, KS.

As a child, Isaac was involved in 4-H, various sports, church, and AWANA whenever it was available. He loved playing cards at family gatherings. His love of music spanned various genres. Eventually, he took lessons in violin and fiddle and played at music events in the Llano, TX, area. His love of animals led him to become a true scout of hunting, analyzing the habitat, movement, feeding, and other characteristics of the animals he hunted. Isaac also enjoyed fishing and caring for the family’s farm animals. He even started a business in Llano, Carver’s Chickens, where he would buy/sell/trade chickens and eggs. Even though his life was short, Isaac experienced a full life. He was a classic self-directed learner, teaching himself skills in hunting, construction, and other problem-solving endeavors. Isaac was a true storyteller and had the life experiences to create stories with warmth and humor.

Isaac joined the Texas Brigades at the age of 13 and eventually achieved Wildlife Intensive Leadership Development (W.I.L.D.) Class VII. The Texas Brigades is a collection of wildlife and natural resource-focused leadership development programs for youth. Cadets are introduced to habitat management, honing their communication skills, and development of a land ethic. This experience led Isaac to enroll in the Wildlife and Outdoor Enterprise Management program at Kansas State University, where he was affectionately known as “Tex” during his time there.

Isaac is survived by his parents, Julie and Barton Oestreich, Llano, TX, and David Carver, Manhattan, KS. He is also survived by his sisters, Samantha and Salena Oestreich, Llano, TX, and brother (and wife), Kelly and Staci Oestreich, Llano, TX., and their son, Tanner.
