Graydon (Grady) Carroll Jr.

Graydon (Grady) Orran Carroll Jr. passed away January 27, 2024 at the age of 62 in Emporia, KS.

He was born in Winfield, KS June 14, 1961. Grady spent most of his life in Council Grove, KS where he liked to fish, swim at Council Grove Lake, and play pool and darts. He also loved to play Frisbee Golf and loved to watch Steelers and KC Chiefs football.

As a teenager he participated in boxing, where he eventually won the Golden Gloves Regional 12 championship which covered Kansas and Oklahoma.

Though Grady never had children of his own, he loved children and would get right down on the floor and play for hours with them. When you became a friend to Grady, you were a friend for life.

Grady is preceded in death by both his mother and father, Patricia Ann Carroll-Smith and Graydon Orran Carroll Sr.

He is survived by his sisters June LaRue (Dennis) of Gardner, KS; Carolyn Washburn-Carroll of Olathe, KS; and Marcia Hamilton- Carroll (Sonny) of Kansas City, KS; brothers Danny Carroll of Emporia, KS and Gary Carroll (Melissa) of Harlingen, TX; step-brothers James Carroll (Angelia) and Justin Carroll (Chalynia); as well as aunts, uncles and 9 nieces and nephews.

Memorial service information is pending and will probably be in the spring.
