Donald Lee Harmison

Donald Lee Harmison was born on December 14, 1942 to Toby and Harriett Harmison, in Corpus Christi, Texas, where his dad was stationed with the Navy.

Don grew up in White City, Kansas, graduating with the Class of 1960. He obtained two degrees and played baseball at Wichita State University, and he was teaching and coaching in California when he met and married his wife, Karen. They returned to Kansas and he continued his career in education, and eventually took over the family farm fulltime. His loves included: family, football, baseball, rodeo, ranching and music. Over the years, he served on the Morris County 4H Fair Board, the Morris County Hospital Board, and he did volunteer work on various community projects. He impacted the lives of many young athletes as a volunteer coach in the area. Don passed away on February 29, 2024 in Junction City, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Karen, children Jay Harmison (Kylee), Jeremy Harmison (Amanda), and Jenna Brown (Chase), 13 grandchildren, and his sisters, Connie Snyder and Billie Plantz. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7 from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Simmons Fellowship Hall in White City and services will be held on Friday, March 8 at 10:30a.m. at the White City United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be designated to the White City United Methodist Church or the White City Ball Association.
