Colette Denine Worcester
Colette Denine Worcester, 62, of McComb, MS, passed away on August 12, 2023. She was born on January 8, 1961 in Council Grove, KS.
Colette made several trips to New York City, Las Vegas and many points between. While on her trips, she visited local art museums to view artwork. Locally, she really enjoyed going to the beach at Ship Island to snorkel and enjoy the Gulf waters. She crocheted afghans for family, babies, and friends, painted canvases, made ceramics, and other crafts. She loved music, reading books, and caring for her fur babies (her cats, Shelby, Molly, and Sarai, and her beloved dog, Jessie).
She is survived by her mother, Marian Worcester of Destrehan, LA, her sisters, Justine Wolf (Scott) of Caldwell, TX and Dawn Day (Reid) of Ponchatoula, LA, nephew, Michael Wolf (Ashley) of Caldwell, TX, niece Kelli Lavine (Tyler) of Aurora, CO, great-aunt to Dakota, Kiera, and Korben Wolf. One surviving uncle, Paul Worcester of Portland, OR and several cousins. She had a strong bond with her family and her precious cat, Saira.
Colette was preceded in death by her father, Roger Worcester of Destrehan, LA, her paternal grandparents, Ira (Buss) and Audrey Worcester of Council Grove, KS, her maternal grandparents, Walter and Helen Hesse of Stuttgart, AR, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Colette pursued higher education at Delgado Community College with a career in public service. She started as a Student Worker transferring to full-time at the Department of the Interior, Minerals Management Service which became Department of the Interior, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management in New Orleans. She finished her career in Anchorage, AK through remote work until her death. She worked her whole government career with the Department of the Interior. Her commitment and dedication to her work were evident, and she made a positive impact in her role.
Colette will be remembered for her generous heart. Her presence will be missed by her family and friends that knew her.
