Johnny L. Laizure, 77, of Council Grove, Kansas, passed away September 19th at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

Feb. 20, 1940 – Sept. 20, 2025 Willard Galen Olson, of Burdick, Kansas, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, leaving behind a legacy rooted in agriculture, education, and service to others. He was 85 years old.

Clara passed away September 15, 2025, at Nemaha County Community Hospital in Seneca, Kansas. Clara “Tudy” Frakes Horn was born October 29, 1935, in Kansas City Kansas, to Mary Louise “Coffey” Frakes and Albert Jefferson Frakes. Tudy was the second oldest of 6 children.

Vera Mae Budd, age 94, passed away Sept. 12, 2025, at Diversicare of Council Grove. She was born on January 5, 1931, in Alta Vista, Kansas and raised in the Chalk area.

John Conrad Hertlein was born in rural Wilsey on December 25, 1938, to Ray and Lucy (Greer) Hertlein. His cousin (Eleanor Hertlein Philips Muller) often said he caused the Hertlein family Christmas dinner to be late—since they couldn’t eat without Aunt Mildred, who helped welcome him into the world.

Mary Yvonne Matthews, 88, of Overland Park, passed away peacefully on August 15th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She lived a life filled with love, kindness, and laughter. Her home was always neat, tidy, and lovely decorated - especially with her beloved collection of chickens.
