Linda Mae Schroer
Linda Mae Schroer, 84, died June 16, 2026, at Morris County Hospital, Council Grove. She was born March 14, 1942, at the Stubenhofer Maternity Ward in Strong City.
Linda attended Strong City grade school and graduated from Strong City High School in 1960. She attended Emporia State University and University of Kansas. She graduated in 1964 with her Bachelor of Science in nursing.
She worked in various nursing positions in Kansas City, KS, Laramie, WY, Ann Arbor, MI, Columbia, MO, and Wichita. Her last position was certified wound ostomy and continence nurse at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita from 1978 until she retired in 1997.
Linda was involved in Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurses Society, United Ostomy Association, Lutheran Braille Workers, Inc., bell choirs at Holy Cross and Risen Savior Lutheran churches, and Wichita solos square dance club. She was a member of Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Wichita.
Linda is survived by: brother, Ace Schroer and wife Deb of Strong City; sister, Pamela Schienbein and husband Gerald of Carseland, Alberta, Canada; 7 nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews; and best friend, Margaret Cook of Wichita.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Church, Strong City, with Reverend Adam Reichart officiating. Burial will follow in Strong Township Cemetery. No visitation is planned.
