Vera Mae Budd

Vera Mae Budd, age 94, passed away Sept. 12, 2025, at Diversicare of Council Grove. She was born on January 5, 1931, in Alta Vista, Kansas and raised in the Chalk area.

Vera worked at Salvation Army, IBP and at the Chase County Elementary School. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, traveling with Robbie, and her animals. She loved spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, infant son Richard Ray Bosch, son Harold Duane Bosch, great-granddaughter Anna Mae Bross, brothers Robert and Herbert Nuemeyer and sisters Ruby Richter and Emma Behrens.

Vera is survived by her children: Glenda Fink (James), of Cottonwood, Teresa Bross, of Alta Vista, Tamara Froggatt (Jeff), of Claude, TX, Darnell Bosch, of Emporia, and Tracey Stice (Lois), of Alta Vista; grandchildren Amanda Jo Fink (Kyle), Dusty Fink (Heather), Terry Bosch, Santee Bosch, Justin Bosch (Jennifer), Jamie Bailes, Jesse Ritten (Joshua), Jason Jones, (Amber), Howard Stice (Laura), Tracey Allen Stice, and Skyler Bross (Crystal); 17 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 3 nephews and 2 nieces.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, September 23rd, at Emmanuel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter in Emporia. They may be sent in care of Sawyer Funeral Home, PO Box 273, Council Grove, KS 66846.
