Pauline Ruth Tally
Pauline Ruth Tally passed away peacefully at Life Care Center in Burlington, KS, surrounded by her family on June 4, 2025. She was 98.
Pauline was born on January 26, 1927, the daughter of Claude H. and Viola (Claybaugh) Clymer. She grew up in the Council Grove area where she met and married Arthur Tally October, 15, 1950. Together they built a life on their farm, raising their son, Kevin.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking for her family. She was well known for her affinity for ice cream and always had several varieties in her freezer, becoming known by some of her grandchildrens’ friends as “the grandma with ice cream.” She loved playing cards, square dancing, singing and playing guitar.
Pauline is survived by her grandchildren, Keith (Tori) Tally, Shawnee, KS, Crystal (Joel) Williams, Emporia, KS, and Lance (Mandy) Tally, Madison, KS; great grandchildren Dacia Mast, Kadyn Williams, Danika Williams, Zoe Tally, Mira Tally, Ellis Tally and Anaya Tally; daughter-in-law Lorita (Mike) Brazzle, Madison, KS; niece Sheri Scheffer, Paola, KS; great-nephews Jason (Laura) Scheffer, Paola, KS, Nick Scheffer, Paola, KS; and other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin, her husband Arthur, her niece Cheryl Reynold, her nephew Ed Scheffer, her siblings and her parents.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
