David Dean Moeller

David Dean Moeller, Age 73 passed away peacefully at Morris County Hospital on October 31, 2022.

Dave was born September 11, 1949, in Conrad, IA. He graduated high school and was then drafted into the Vietnam War, where he served as a Specialist and Helicopter Gunner from 11 September 1969 to 01 September 1975. Dave was wounded during his military service and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

After completion of Dave’s military service, he then moved to Kansas where he met his wife Linda and they were married May 21, 1981, and recently celebrated their 42nd Wedding Anniversary. Linda survives at the home.

Dave worked in various jobs throughout his years after his military service. Dave worked as a ranch hand for many years and there wasn’t a horse he couldn’t break. He was an over the road truck driver for over 10 years where he was accompanied by Linda for some time. He worked in construction for many years and even co-owned a company with his brother-in-law Rick Gilbert. Dave finished his official career as a Construction Control Inspector on Ft. Riley from December 8 2008 to September 15 2015 when he retired. He continued to do a lot of odds and ends jobs working on small engines and making repairs locally.

Dave was a lover of life and lived it to the fullest. He had a ton of hobbies and interest. He loved mud trucks and NASCAR. He enjoyed fishing and camping and loved spending time with his family at the local lake especially with the kids. He loved to work on cars in his spare time. He also loved to make homemade wine and sip on that from time to time.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, lrmgard and Gilbert of Iowa; Charlie H. (Stepson); Richard B. G. (Nephew); Janet P. (Sister-in-law).

He is survived by his wife Linda K. Moeller, Sisters, Barbara S. (Mervin), Patricia A (Douglas) Brothers, Tom L (Amy), Rick D (Beth).

Internment will take place at the Veterans Cemetery in Manhattan Kansas. Additional service information is still pending currently. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the home, 102 S. Mulberry St., White City, KS 66872.
