Vickie L. Wright

Vickie L. Wright, age 70, of Grove, Oklahoma passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at her home. Vickie was born on August 23, 1951, to Fred and Valeda Miller in Emporia, KS.

She grew up in Council Grove, Ks and graduated from high school there. Vickie went to cosmetology school and later became a certified dental assistant. On August 24, 1989, Vickie married the love of her life, Loren Wright in Colorado Springs, Co and became an Air Force wife. She gladly accompanied her husband to the many places he was stationed all over the United States.

In 2007, the couple moved to Grove from San Antonio, where Vickie worked part time at Grove Dental Associates. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and their Womens Group which contributes to many local charities and programs.

Vickie had a kind heart, a contagious smile and a spunky personality. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Hard working and determined, Vickie could accomplish most anything she set her mind to. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and crafts but more than anything, she loved her family. She will be dearly missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Rhonda Macy, brother, Brad Miller and son Loren P. Wright. Left to cherish Vickie’s memory, husband, Loren Wright; children: L.D. Waner (Tina) of Carlyle, IL, Jennifer Thompson (Jesse) of Fairland, Ok, Angela Hull (Adam) of Topeka, Ks, Shaun Wright (Tammy) of Vilonia, AR and daughter in law, Katie Wright of Cabot, AR; brother, Greg Miller of Council Grove, KS; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A celebration on Vickie’s life will be at 2pm Friday, August 26, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in Grove. Donations may be made to FUMC Women’s Group in Vickie’s honor.
