James Dustin LaRue

James Dustin LaRue, 46, went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2022 after an extended illness.

James was born December 20, 1975 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka to Dennis Rae and Karen Sue (Sutton) LaRue. He was an identical mirror twin and was a 1996 graduate of Council Grove High School.

James is preceded in death by step-father Mike Brooks, grandparents Wilbur and Betty LaRue, James and Patricia Sutton, cousin Justin Brooks and niece Jordan Kelley.

Survivors include his 5-year-old daughter, Jaleigh Rayne LaRue, of the home, step-son Journey Olsen, step-daughter Hope Garrelts, stepson Remington Young; all three parents, Dennis and June LaRue of Gardner and Karen Brooks of Council Grove; twin brother Curtis LaRue of Council Grove, brothers Ben LaRue of Gardner, Cory Cranford and sister Jonya Kelley of Council Grove, step-brother Jeric Cranford of Emporia, as well as nieces and nephews and many people that adored him.

A memorial trust fund has been established for Jaleigh LaRue at Farmers and Drovers Bank. Mailing address is: Jayleigh LaRue, c/o Karen Brooks, 41 Pioneer Village, Council Grove Kansas 66846. There will also be a container at the memorial service for cards and contributions.

Memorial service is May 14th, 2022 at 4 p.m. at the Morris County 4H Building, a mile east of Council Grove on Hwy. 56. We will be serving brisket after the service and ask guests to bring a dish.
