Matfield Green in Chase County is throwing a summer-long party. From July 9 through August 27, Matfield Green Works, a non-profit, will host 17 weekend happenings celebrating the arts, the prairie, music, literature and science.
The 14th Annual Jeremy Hopper Memorial Softball Tournament will be held in White City on Friday and Saturday, July 1 and 2. The tournament will coincide with the city’s annual fireworks show, parade, traditional kids games, flag-raising and other activities over the holiday weekend, with a break in the afternoon for players and spectators to enjoy the parade and other festivities with their families.

White City High School and Middle School second semester honor rolls have been announced.
Wilsey Rural High School alumni meeting was held at the Morris County 4-H building on Sunday May 29, with 66 alumni and guests in attendance. The school closed in 1968 to merge with USD 417.
