A Council Grove woman was arrested early Tuesday morning following a traffic stop, the Council Grove Police Department stated in a news release.

At the upcoming Gunfight on the Santa Fe Trail 2022, Chris Raynor will portray Captain Nicholas Nolan, the first company commander of the Co A 10th Cavalry. Raynor and reenactors portraying the Buffalo Soldiers will bring a full encampment display and detail the history of the company, as well as their horses and tack and a demonstration of their maneuvers, commands and period cooking. The Gunfight on the Santa Fe Trail 2022 will be held July 15-16 at Neosho Riverwalk Park. Tickets will soon be available for purchase online at www.santafetrail200.com/gunfight-on-the-santa-fe-trail.

UNDEFEATED-The Council Grove Braves 15u team remained undefeated over the weekend in their first tournament of the summer. The team competed in the 16AA tournament in Oak Grove, Missouri and brought home some trophies. In pool play, the Braves defeated Rage 8-0 and Central Missouri Elite 12-10. In bracket play on Sunday, the second seeded Braves defeated Central Missouri Elite 4-3 to advance to the championship game against the Longhorns, winning 9-8.
