The Morris County Road and Bridge Department has announced the opening of the Kelso Bridge, located a half-mile west of Kelso, as of 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28. The bridge project was a joint project with the KDOT Cost Share program, with work performed by Bridges, Inc.

BORDER QUEEN REGULATORS-A featured act at the Gunfight on the Santa Fe Trail 2022 will be the Border Queen Regulators. Although the group was not officially formed until 2017, they have been putting on gunfights in Caldwell for many years to promote the Chisholm Trail and Caldwell’s cowtown heritage. Since forming, the group has performed yearly at the Chisholm Trail Festival and for the TV series Best of America by Horseback. The group was a highlight of last year’s festival and are excited to be back in Council Grove to provide family fun and entertainment.

More details have emerged regarding allegations that a Council Grove attorney attempted to use a semi-trailer to run down a city councilman and his wife in 2020.
