After much work and planning, Ryan McDonald says the Dealership will host it’s first “big” event this Saturday with a concert by country band Steel Skarecrow.
Last week’s “Grove” wrestling camp was attended by 138 boys on Monday and Tuesday and 58 girls on Wednesday and Thursday. Wrestlers attending the camp participated in technique sessions, a run on the Riverwalk and classroom sessions on nutrition, weight lifting and the effects of drugs and alcohol. Each camp also enjoyed a pool party at the Council Grove Aquatic Center.

A notorious outlaw who rides alongside Levi Cord and Jedediah Grimm in the infamous Council Grove Regulators, Bud Christopher will be in attendance at the Gunfight on the Santa Fe Trail 2022. A charming ladies man and an expert with a tomahawk, Christopher is also an experienced tracker and has made a life selling hides in order to cover up his outlaw ways. Christopher is said to have an itchy trigger finger and a short fuse. Rumor has it that he was overheard at the Alamo Saloon in Abilene discussing his plans to go beaver trapping in the Flint Hills near Council Grove. Morris County officials celebrate the opening of the new Kelso Bridge on Tuesday morning. Commissioners Wayne Kohler, Dave Fox and Jim Barber, County Clerk Chelsey Schmidt, Morris County Road and Bridge Supervisor Jeff Falter and Administrative Supervisor Shelly Lautt were joined by representatives from KDOT and BG Consultants to cut the ribbon on the new bridge, which began construction in November 2021.
