EMPORIA — Emporia State University will close the doors on its Center for Early Childhood Education after the upcoming school year, making it the only state university without on-campus child care.

The Council Grove Senior Center will host a meet and greet for new cook Chassity Rathke on Monday, August 1, with a $3 special meal for all those 60 and over. The feature meal will be Swiss steak. Those wishing to enjoy the special meal must reserve by 9 a.m. on July 29.
