A grand opening for the Council Grove Trade & Tourism Association offices at 116 W. Main will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, with ribbon cutting scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The Council Grove Public Library will offer a three-part book discussion series August through October on the theme of “Westering.” Members of the community are invited to attend the free programs, which will take place at library at 829 W Main Street.
The Council Grove City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at City Hall. On the agenda will be an update on city chip ‘n seal projects, a water deposit ordinance and discussion regarding the Council Grove City Lake.
Truman Bond first became interested in attending camp at the the Kansas Cosmosphere after he saw a pamphlet in the rack at the Council Area Trade & Tourism Association office, where his mom Zoey is the executive director.
