Council Grove’s high school and junior high cross country teams took advantage of some beautiful, fall Flint Hills weather Saturday to run good times at the Riley County Invitational.

Eight area volleyball teams were in Council Grove Saturday to play in the CGHS Invitational Tournament at Braves Gym. Abilene beat Hesston in the championship match to take the top trophy.
Heart Of FH Chapter’ Of SFT Meeting Oct. 13

The newly re-organized Heart of the Flint Hills Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail will meet on Thursday, Oct 13, in the commissioner’s room in the Osage County Courthouse. The meeting room is located on the first floor of the building at 717 Topeka Avenue in Lyndon. The meeting will begin at 6:30 pm. Those from Council Grove/ Morris County who plan to attend are invited to carpool from the Carnegie at 5:15 pm. All who are interested are encouraged to attend the meeting.
