Council Grove High School Head Basketball Coach Bruce Hula has been saying it was just a matter of time before the Braves put everything together and last night, his statement came to fruition.
There was a different feeling on the bus Thursday afternoon as the Braves made the short trip to Allen to take on North Lyon County. It was quiet and there was a sense of focus. The Braves used that focus on all levels, sweeping all 3 games from the Wildcats.
At Tuesday’s meeting of the Morris County Commissioners, it was announced that Morris County has received a private donation from a Morris County landowner in the amount of $50,000. The donation is to purchase 800mhz radios for all fire departments in Morris County. Chris Blackledge, Emergency Manager, has obtained quotes for new radio units vs used radio units.

Dave May was the guest speaker at Wednesday’s Council Grove Rotary Club meeting. May describes himself as a ventriloquist, magician, actor, director and writer. Many community members remember May as one who entertains young and old alike at events and venues. He is leading the launch of the Council Grove Community Theatre, a volunteer theater group. May says the group falls under the auspice of the Community Arts Council of Council Grove.
