6th Grade Girls rally for 14-13 win
The 6th grade girls’ basketball team traveled to Madison for their first game of the season on Saturday, January 31st and started off slowly by trailing 11-4 going into the 4th quarter.
Powerlifters excel at Basehor; Colton Elsen overall champion
The Council Grove powerlifting team gave a strong performance at the Basehor powerlifting meet last week, competing against one of the deepest fields in the state. The event featured 40 schools and a total of 632 lifters, and Council Grove sent three athletes, all of whom earned podium finishes in individual lifts and placed well overall. Head coach Matt Wilkens said the meet provided a valuable test for his lifters against top-tier competition.

Statewide Women in Ag Conference scheduled March 21
The Statewide Women in Ag Conference will be held Saturday, March 21, in Corning. The free, adult-only event is hosted by the Nemaha, Jackson, and Pottawatomie County Conservation Districts and is open to both women and men involved in or connected to agriculture.
